This is a design made to hang on a wall. I've used a bundle of bleached Salix matsudana 'Tortuosa' twigs, which I've tied together with paper-covered wire, making a loop to hang it from at the back. The flowers and foliage are all artificial, and include Roses (for the focal flowers), Astrantia maxima, Eucalyptus and Humulus lupulus (hops). To fix the flowers and foliage in place, I could have used a glue gun, or I could have also fixed a small piece of dri-foam to the twigs, or I could have wired each flower and leaf on. However, in this case, I've used a ball of Oasis-Fix (a sticky green putty-like substance) which I've fixed to the twigs by pressing it into position, and all the plant material is just pushed into this and stays in place! An olive-green organza bow has been added at the top, with some tails hanging down. The bow and tails are separate, so that they can be fixed into place correctly. |
