FLORAL DESIGNS
divider

This is an arrangement which uses only foliage, and no flowers at all! I have used a shallow wooden bowl, and floral foam inside a plastic container for the mechanics. All the foliage is grouped, with each group being different in texture, colour or form. I have made some "roses" from woven Phormium tenax purpureum leaves, and also plaited some of these leaves, which snake across the design. The foliage I have used around the outside, from the top, is Fatsia japonica variegata, Pelargonium 'Meadowside Mahogany', Hosta, Heuchera 'Plum Pudding', Hosta 'Blue Cadet', Hedera helix 'Buttercup', Parthenocissus henryana, Hedera helix 'Buttercup' (again), and Heuchera 'Cascade Dawn'. In the centre of the design I have used Buxus sempervirens, rosettes of Aeonium purpureum (a succulent), Mentha suaveolens variegata (pineapple mint), curled Hedera canariensis, and Phormium tenax purpureum.
